My Approach
I love weddings! In fact I want to be a guest at every wedding I film! So this is how I shoot, as if I were a guest. Blending in with the rest of the lovely folk at your wedding is key to me capturing natural moments and ensuring that nobody feels uncomfortable when I am around them.
Minimalistic equipment allows me to focus on the story of your day as opposed to unnecessary technical hinderances. Don’t worry your film will still look beautiful through the use of natural light and creative composition.
I am however less interested in the visual aesthetics of your day than you may think, my main goal is to capture the real human emotion shown by yourselves and your guests. The tears, the laughter, the embraces, the dances, all the moments that make a wedding day such a marvellous occasion to behold.
I have a smile on my face 99% of the time. The remaining 1% is when I realise I've accidentally eaten a mushroom.
I play guitar, my wife tells me that I'm good but she has to say that.
I married my wife because she's lovely, but also because she is as short as I am.
I love food, besides my aforementioned hate for mushrooms. I really don't like mushrooms.
I go to the gym because I'm too short to get fat, I would look like a gnome.
I laugh at my own jokes, people tell me I should perform stand up comedy, I tell them I like sitting down too much. I'm laughing at myself as I write this.
FAQ's
How long will you be at our wedding for?
This can vary at all weddings but as a general rule I am there 2-3 hours before your ceremony and 1-2 hours after your first dance. Im not a clock watcher so won’t leave until the job is done and will not charge for any extra hours if for any reason your wedding runs slightly later than expected.
Will we meet before the wedding day?
I like to meet all of my couples before their wedding day, this means you haven’t got a complete stranger turning up and also lets me get to know a little bit about you which can influence the way I shoot and edit your film. Of course with the advancement of technology we could always ‘meet’ on Skype if our schedules don’t match up.
How far will you travel?
I have travelled the world filming weddings and love a good adventure so no place is too far! I don't charge for mileage but may ask politely to be put up in a hotel close to your venue the night before your wedding if it is further afield. This ensures that I am fresh and ready to give my all on your wedding day. If you are getting married outside of the UK get in touch to discuss travel and accommodation options.
When will I receive my finished film?
This is dependant on what time of the year you get married but it generally takes around 4 - 12 weeks for me to get the finished product back to you.
Will you need food on the day?
As I will be at your wedding all day I would be very appreciative if you could arrange some food for me. Of course I don’t expect a full 3 course meal just something to see me through, most venues will offer a suppliers meal menu if you enquire.
Do you provide drone footage?
Drone footage is included in all of my packages however it cannot be 100% guaranteed as it is weather dependant.
Can I add a second shooter
I feel I can shoot most weddings on my own however if you have over 200 guests, have separate important events happening at the same time or would just like the peace of mind of having a second shooter in attendance this can be arranged. I have a small group of trusted filmmakers whose work matches the high standards I set for myself. Please ask for a quote.
Are you insured?
I have all relevant insurance including Public Liability insurance, if your venue need to see these forms just ask!
When and how do we book?
It's a good idea to book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment, I often book weddings 1-2 years in advance. A deposit of £300 is required to secure your booking with the remaining balance due 30 days before the date of your wedding.
