“In those early days I had a dream where you reached out and held my hand, I relive it every time we hold hands and I always will.”
Please accept my apologies for beginning this post with a personal aside. I’ve been slightly quieter on here recently, despite being in the midst of a frantic wedding season filled with so many incredible weddings. In the past few weeks the majority of my time in between weddings has been spent with my family. Unfortunately last week we lost my dad, we knew this inevitable end was coming but the finality of the situation was made no easier to bear. The main reason I wanted to address this situation here is to highlight what me and my wife did just hours after his death. We sat down together and watched our wedding film. The moments captured of him are now even more precious to us, a big shout out to https://www.lawsonfilms.co.uk who myself and my family will be forever grateful to. In the last week my outlook on my job and the importance of it has changed entirely for the better. I hope I can create something for all of my past and future brides that gives you the comfort that my wedding film gave me.
And breathe.
GLASTONBURY THEMED WEDDING!
Right with that out of the way let’s focus on this beautiful family focused wedding that I was lucky enough to film. Chris and Hannah wanted to create a wedding that felt like a music festival, Glastonbury to be exact, and they succeeded with aplomb. Set across an entire weekend they had a full set list of bands, some tasty street food style vendors and a strong supply of beer and cocktails. With the help of their wonderful celebrant their wedding ceremony was completely unique, heartfelt and a joy to behold. Along with their personal wedding vows they took part in a hand fasting ceremony, a Celtic tradition which signifies the binding together of two lives. As well as that they also involved their whole family in a unity sand ceremony from which they gained a visual keepsake that signifies the joining together of their two families. I haven’t been to a music festival since becoming a wedding videographer 9 years ago so thank you Hannah and Chris for inviting me to yours.
